Public statistics
Public usage statistics
These are aggregate counters from the optional usage-counter pipeline. They count reported app opens and reported Git-host actions — they are not verified users, and they are not unique users.
Published usage counters
What each number means
- Opens today
- Reported app opens on the current UTC day. The day is decided by the server in UTC, never by the device.
- Opens, last 30 days
- Reported app opens across the current UTC day and the previous 29 UTC days.
- Daily average, last 30 days
- Opens in the last 30 days divided by 30 days.
- Opens this month
- Reported app opens from 00:00 UTC on the first day of the current UTC month up to today.
- Month-to-date daily average
- Opens this month divided by the number of UTC calendar days elapsed in the current UTC month. The 1st divides by 1, the 31st by 31.
- Platform ranking, last 30 days
- Reported Git-host actions over the same 30-day window, grouped by the fixed host list GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Forgejo and other.
How these counters are protected
Reported events, not people
Every figure is a count of events reported by a client. The counters carry no account identifier, so we cannot tell one person’s reports apart from anyone else’s, and the totals are neither verified usage nor a count of unique users.
A repeated report counts again
Reports are not signed, replay-checked or deduplicated, so a client that reports the same open twice has it counted twice. Treat the numbers as an indication of activity rather than an audited figure.
Small cells are withheld
A cell with fewer than 20 reported events is withheld, and the totals that would reveal it are withheld with it, so a hidden number cannot be reconstructed by subtraction. Withheld is shown as withheld, never as zero.
Aggregate rows only, kept for 13 months
Only daily aggregate counters are stored. There is no event log and no per-person record, and counter rows carry no note content, repository name, account identifier or token.
